About La Caravelle Champagne
La Caravelle is best approached as a bottle choice rather than a cellar-tour plan. Its three non-vintage Champagnes have different blends: Cuvée Niña combines Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier; the Rosé adds 9% still Pinot Noir to Niña’s base; the Blanc de Blancs is 100% Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Chouilly.
Which bottle fits?
Choose Niña for the three-grape house blend, Rosé for a version with an added still-red-wine component, or Blanc de Blancs if the goal is a Chardonnay-only Champagne. Niña blends Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier. The Rosé is therefore not a Chardonnay-only wine.
Buying and visiting
Rita and André Jammet created the line in 1997 for their New York restaurant, and it continues after the restaurant’s closure. The producer gives contact details and retail guidance, but does not publish a standard Épernay cellar-visit schedule. Check current availability through the producer or a retailer rather than assuming a tasting appointment.
