Overview
The Michelin Guide Netherlands 2026 announces 499 restaurants, including 119 starred restaurants and 77 Bib Gourmands. The starred group comprises one Three-Star, 20 Two-Star and 98 One-Star restaurants. It is a national selection with different distinctions, not a ranking from first to 499th.
Michelin's five cooking criteria address ingredient quality, technique, flavor balance, individual culinary character and consistency across dishes and visits. Professional inspectors assess restaurants and reach decisions collectively. Stars concern food, not the formality of service or luxury of the dining room. The published guidance offers no public points formula or criterion weights. A Star level is not a score out of 100. Pearl's own points must not be read as Michelin inspection marks. Bib Gourmand recognizes cooking and value; it is not a lower Star tier. A restaurant can be selected without holding either distinction. Compare the exact recognition attached to each venue rather than assuming every restaurant in this collection is starred.

About This Edition
The selection was unveiled in Maastricht on October 5, with the corporate release dated October 6. De Librije retains Three Stars; Azurite and SUIS are the new Two-Star recipients. There are seven new One-Star restaurants and ten new Bib Gourmands. The October 20 Pearl audit found 492 linked staging venue records against Michelin's official total of 499. An address-only check collapsed seven pairs, including separate restaurants at the same hotel, so its lower count is not a reliable count of distinct restaurants. The arithmetic difference of seven does not by itself identify the missing restaurants; complete roster coverage requires entry-by-entry identity reconciliation. Public cards can be fewer because venue publication checks are separate from list enrichment.
