About Xitan Hotel Beijing
China has long been home to some of the most impressive conventional luxury hotels in the world — but it’s also home to some unusual ones, like the village-style Xitan Hotel Beijing. Despite its name, it’s located not in the city proper but in the mountains to the west, a spectacular setting for a hotel that aims to restore its guests to a closer relationship with nature. The guest quarters are arranged around courtyards in the traditional style, while the interiors, though historically inspired, take a more contemporary turn. Space is plentiful, the atmosphere is tranquil, and the comforts are first-rate; despite its unusual presentation Xitan is, at its heart, a thoroughly modern luxury resort. To its accommodations it adds the Qin Spa, with a particular focus on hydrotherapy, as well as a restaurant, The House of Rong, which is part of China’s well-known Xin Rong Ji culinary concern.
