If you're comfortable navigating the booking process in Japanese (or via a concierge), the quality justifies the effort. If you'd rather avoid the logistical friction, Tokyo offers similar fish-forward bistro cooking with more accessible reservation systems, but you'll lose the Kamakura setting and the neighbourhood intimacy that makes Poa Jie feel like a local secret rather than a destination stage.
