About Design-Hotel JAMS
You certainly can’t accuse Jams Music Hotel Munich of going halfway with its theme. Munich was at the forefront of the electronic-music revolution that began in the Seventies, and Jams is dedicated not only to this history, but to rock and roll in general — every corner of the hotel is filled with vinyl LPs, music-inspired artwork, and illustrated portraits of performers. The dedication to music is so thorough that you could almost overlook the fact that, underneath it all, Jams is simply an extremely stylish boutique hotel, and one with more than its fair share of high-end comforts. In the rooms these include not just turntables, sound systems, flat-screen televisions, and espresso makers, but rain showers and underfloor bathroom heating as well. So-called Cozy rooms are just what they say they are, while Comfy rooms spread out a bit more, and the suites verge on extravagance. Meanwhile JAMS Restaurant and Bar features a “soul food” menu by executive chef Dirk Ziegert, as well as a forward-thinking cocktail program to complement the retro rock-and-roll styling. There’s a fleet of bikes for exploring the French Quarter, and there’s no shortage of nightlife in the immediate area — this is one of Munich’s liveliest neighborhoods.
