About Bio-Hotel Stanglwirt
Built with native pine and run on hydropower, the 400-year-old Bio-Hotel Stanglwirt was sustainable long before such a thing was fashionable. Generations of well-to-do European families have retreated to the elegant lodge in the Austrian Alps and, more recently, a wave of namedrop-worthy celebrities in pursuit of fresh air and mountain scenery. This chalet-style hotel has its own ski school, a heated saltwater pool that’s the largest in any hotel in Europe, a gorgeous sauna complex, and a slew of restaurants serving Tyrolean specialties crafted with ingredients from Stanglwirt’s on-site farm. Rooms and suites feature traditional Swiss stone pine floors, walls, and ceilings, cozy details in wool and linen, and private balconies, many facing the peaks of the Wilder Kaiser.
