About Fasano Salvador
The Fasano hotels and restaurants are a big deal in Brazil; no less significant a figure than singer-songwriter Caetano Veloso performed at the opening of this one, the eighth Fasano-branded luxury hotel in Brazil. Fasano Salvador occupies a building of some gravity as well, a 1930s Art Deco landmark that was once the headquarters of the city’s daily newspaper, and which stands on Castro Alves Square, in the UNESCO-listed historic city center, with an elevated view back towards the Bay of All Saints. Inside, the entry and lobby continue in a beautifully restored Art Deco vein, while, as you get into more private spaces like the spa, restaurant, and rooms and suites, a sleeker, more modern aspect emerges, courtesy of Fasano’s favorite architect, Isay Weinfeld. In typical Fasano style, even the most basic rooms are large and luxurious, with warm, organic materials and indulgent, spa-like bathrooms. The rooftop pool deck has an impressive view of the bay, and is joined by a well-equipped spa and fitness center. And you’ll want to make time for the restaurant, also called Fasano Salvador, where upscale Italian classics are served alongside Bahian specialties and fine wines from the New and Old Worlds alike.
