    About Montesol Experimental

There’s the hedonistic party side of Ibiza, and the secluded farmhouse side — and, at the Montesol Experimental, a version of the island that’s urbane and sophisticated. This hotel’s 1933 façade hints at the elegance of what’s inside, though it does little to prepare you for the crisp, contemporary interiors — the work of the celebrated designer Dorothée Meilichzon — to say nothing of the ultra-hip restaurant and rooftop lounge. 33 is also the number of rooms and suites, all of them decked out in a handsome monochrome color scheme accented with natural wood tones and echoes of Art Deco. They’re as modern as they come, with rain showers, espresso machines, and 55-inch televisions. And many of the views, whether of the city or the marina, are memorable ones. Café Montesol, the bar and restaurant, serves creative tapas-style dishes crafted by chef Alex Larrea from local produce. Its bar spills out onto the roof terrace, which has commanding views of the city and the surrounding landscapes and seascapes, and a menu of unique cocktails as well as wines from Spain’s finest small producers.
