A few kilometers east of Medellín, Hotel Porto Marina lives up to its name on one of the many wooded peninsulas extending into the Peñol-Guatapé reservoir. Here, rooms double as waterfront “marinas”, each with its own private viewing deck and jacuzzi. Rustic-chic polished wooden planks predominate, elevated by porthole-style windows and stone highlights. Of course, the point is to get out onto the water — the reservations team offers activities packages spanning jet skis, wakeboarding, and boat rentals.
