    About Doria Hotel Bodrum

As the growth in the Bodrum Peninsula has surged over the past decade, this port city has found its legacy of cultural significance to be nothing but an asset. Bodrum Castle beckons visitors back to the 15th Century, and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus dates back to 350 BC. For the modern luxury traveler, of course, Halicarnassus is not the primary concern: the history simply adds an extra dimension of depth to the experience. Much more immediately pressing is the matter of the peninsula’s aquatic surroundings, the maritime idyll of the Aegean Sea — a setting to which the Doria Hotel Bodrum, not entirely incidentally, provides a front-row view. The Turkish version of the Aegean seaside hotel is perhaps unsurprisingly reminiscent of the Greek, though with some subtle differences. The décor makes use of aged wood, perhaps recalling driftwood, to tone down the white-on-whiteness, as well as mellow accents in sea foam green. The Doria’s look is very contemporary but very understated and unpretentious, tasteful above all else. And while the in-room comforts are quite up to snuff, it’s the common spaces that impress the most: the spa, the stylish Blu restaurant, and the seafront cabanas, perched on stilts above the water. Please note: Doria Beach is a five-minute drive from the hotel via a free shuttle bus; contact reception to arrange transportation.
