Its name is a bit of rare understatement in a region known for extravagant hotels. Casa Nonna Bodrum is smallish, at just 34 rooms and suites, but the experience is a luxurious one, however cozy and residential its vibe may be. It’s an adults-only hotel, which certainly elevates the atmosphere, as do its stylish and contemporary interiors. But the hotel’s most admirable quality might be its setting, just above a private beach on the waters of the picturesque İçmeler Bay. The rooms and suites all offer sea views, with varying degrees of directness, from their balconies or terraces. The outdoor pool, too, is surrounded by a spectacular panorama, and is complemented by a spa with a steam room, sauna and Turkish bath. Meanwhile the indoor restaurant, Olive, is open year-round; it’s complemented in high season by the al fresco Après and the self-explanatory Pool & Beach Bar.
