    Overview

The Chinese Restaurant Awards Top 50 Honourees 2026 is the Canadian shortlist preceding the separate Elite 30 ranking. Pearl has 55 branch-level venue records because five honorees cover two locations. The Top 50 is alphabetical, not a ranking from first to fiftieth.

Founded in Vancouver in 2008, the awards focus on Chinese and Taiwanese dining. The 2026 shortlist spans established regional traditions and contemporary restaurants across Canada. It is useful for discovering dishes and destinations beyond a single definition of formal dining. Taste Advisors base votes on personal meals within the preceding 12 months. The published rules exclude sponsored experiences, pop-ups and financial conflicts. Cooking, signature dishes and the wider dining experience guide the assessment; ballots are independently reviewed by a Canadian CPA. Restaurants cannot apply or nominate themselves. The final Elite 30 was revealed September 23. This page preserves the broader Top 50 shortlist and does not imply that every honoree became an Elite 30 winner. Individual and Signature Dish Awards are also separate honors.

Reviewed September 26, 2026 against the official Top 50, 2026 voting rules and already-released Elite 30. Branch coverage was checked against the named official locations.

Explore the Canadian Top 50 through individual restaurant locations, with the distinction between a shortlisted concept and its branches made clear.

    About This Edition

Five official honorees name two locations: Loon Fong Hot Pot, Memory Corner, Miss Qu Barbecue & Restaurant, MOTT 32 and Nian Yi Kuai Zi. Those branch pairs explain why Pearl has more venue records than the 50 named honorees. This does not authorize adding every branch of a brand.
