About SIXTY DC
It took more than 20 years for this boutique-hotel brand, with its beginnings in New York’s SoHo, to reach the nation’s capital: SIXTY DC makes its home not among the staid downtown luxury hotels, but on Dupont Circle, which, even if it’s not exactly D.C.’s SoHo, is certainly a neighborhood that’s as focused on nightlife and entertainment as it is on business, government or otherwise. Behind a suitably glamorous façade you’ll find a hotel whose public spaces take playful liberties with D.C.’s signature style. Meanwhile the rooms display a more pronounced mid-century modern inspiration. Luxurious details abound, and the bathrooms are particularly swanky. As is, in a different way, the hotel’s restaurant, Casamara, with a menu whose flavors range across Spain, France, Italy, and Greece. It’s joined by Reynold’s, a low-lit cocktail bar with a mid-century retro vibe, proof that you don’t need speakeasy styling to create an air of hushed secrecy.
