About Lo Sereno Casa de Playa
Midway between Manzanillo and Acapulco, on a secluded stretch of coastline backed by the Sierra Madre mountains, the tiny village of Troncones has long been a haven for surfers. A handful of remarkably stylish hotels have popped up along the beach, among them Lo Sereno Casa de Playa. This design-forward boutique hotel is made up of just ten rooms, all of them calm and modern, with polished concrete floors and minimalist glass-encased bathrooms. Mexican tradition is built in: rooms feature furnishings made from local materials, handcrafted art from Guadalajara, and sliding wooden doors — employing an ancient cross-ventilation technique — that open onto private terraces. Shaded by palm trees, an open-air bar and restaurant overlook an infinity pool and the Pacific Ocean beyond.
