Gloriette Guesthouse might sit surrounded by meadows and mountain views but inside the design is that of a cool city center boutique hotel. The 25 guest rooms eschew traditional alpine style in favor of neutral shades, sleek lines of light wood and pared back furnishings and all come with a private balcony and sweeping vistas. Where the design, and the views, really stand out though is at the adults-only rooftop spa – a metal lattice frame dramatically crowns the infinity pool, and the sauna is set behind an entire wall of glass. There’s also a steam room, a gym, and a selection of spa treatments. A bar and restaurant serving Alpine-Mediterranean cuisine, complemented by a choice of around 400 wines, rounds out the facilities.
