About Villa Gelsomino Exclusive House
The picturesque Italian Riviera town of Santa Margherita Ligure has grand seaside hotels, but sometimes some smaller-scale hospitality is what’s called for. Villa Gelsomino is only moments removed from the beach and the town center, on a hillside overlooking the harbor. But that small measure of seclusion makes all the difference. It helps that this 19th-century villa contains a mere six bedrooms, and that its interiors remain decorated in their original aristocratic style. In some ways it’s more guest house than hotel — at this scale you can’t expect a spa or a multitude of bars. Dinner is available, with 24 hours’ notice, however, and it’s an all-Ligurian affair, accompanied by wines from the villa’s selection. For a private and discreet Italian Riviera experience it’s tough to beat.
