    About La Tartane

Most of Saint-Tropez’s best hotels are in town, but a few are farther afield, like the Hôtel La Tartane Saint-Tropez. Located midway between the port and the peaceful beaches of Plage Les Salins, it’s an idyllic retreat modeled after a Provençal hamlet. A collection of traditional stucco houses, each named after a prominent figure in the French Riviera’s 1920s scene — Ernest, Peggy, Pablo, Gabrielle, Sara, and Scott — contain the guest rooms and suites. They’re framed by fragrant citrus trees and Mediterranean gardens, and all are within easy reach of an inviting outdoor pool on a wooden deck lined with colorful daybeds. Rooms are rustic-chic and quaintly cottage-like, inspired by the look of a French family vacation home on the Côte d’Azur. Many have exposed timber beams, mustard-yellow flooring, vintage mirrors, and king-sized beds with rattan headboards, while larger duplex suites feature living rooms with striped sofas and spacious bathrooms with marble vanities and soaking tubs. Nearly all rooms and suites have private patios or terraces shaded by olive trees. Lavender and rosemary are plucked from the herb gardens for cocktails at the cheerful pool bar, and lunch on the terrace at the Saint-Amour, La Tartane’s restaurant, feels like dining at an elegant beach club. It makes sense: though you can’t see it from the hotel, the ocean is only a few minutes away by car.
