About La Ferme d’Augustin Saint-Tropez
Before Saint-Tropez’s glamorous midcentury heyday, it was a quiet fishing village. The charmingly down-to-earth La Ferme d’Augustin, set in an old stone farmhouse in the wooded hills above Plage de Tahiti, is a reminder of these simpler days and timeless pleasures. This boutique hotel is named after the house’s onetime owner, who invited passersby to dine at his table, and food and wine have remained a focus since his daughter took over in the late seventies. Olive oil and wine are produced onsite, and fruits from the farm’s garden and orchards are beautifully presented each morning at the leisurely open-air breakfast. Rooms are airy and quaint with terracotta tile floors, Provençal antiques, and paintings by local artists; some have skylights or balconies with sea views, and suites come with lovely private gardens. Fresh flowers enliven the hotel’s cozy fireplace lounge, citrus trees frame the pretty outdoor pool, and the beach is just a short stroll away.
