About Heights House Hotel
Completed in 1860 to designs by British architect William Percival for William Montfort Boylan, this Italianate mansion on the highest point of what is now the Boylan Heights neighborhood is one of the few pre-Civil War houses still standing in Raleigh. The nine ensuite rooms go from standard queens to a sprawling Honeymoon Suite, all fitted out in a "Modern Victorian" register: four-poster beds, working fireplaces, parquet floors, and contemporary furniture that keeps the 20-inch brick walls and ornate plasterwork from tipping into pastiche. The house also functions as a private event venue, with over 10,000 square feet of space across the library, drawing room, dining room, and grounds.
