About Hotel Indigo - Omaha Downtown
There was a time when it wasn’t so easy to find a properly stylish boutique hotel in the American heartland; and if Omaha, Nebraska isn’t in the heart of the heartland, then we don’t know what is. Fortunately, times have changed, and cities like this one can now offer lodgings on the level of the Hotel Indigo - Omaha Downtown. It’s something of an homage to what might be the most glamorous era of Omaha’s history — Prohibition, when the saloons and speakeasies were forced underground, and happenings spread by word of mouth. It’s no surprise, then, that the Indigo’s interiors lean rather more heavily on Twenties decadence than on the sort of Old West kitsch that tempts some other hoteliers. Meanwhile the building’s hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, and unfinished ceilings lend the rooms and suites an urban-loft aspect; they’re full of subtle retro detailing as well as all the comforts a 21st-century boutique-hotel guest demands. And that attention to detail doesn’t end at the threshold to the guest room; the hotel’s bar, Anna’s Place, is a speakeasy-style craft-cocktail bar with an inventive modern menu.
