As outdoor-oriented travel continues to grow in popularity, places like Moab, Utah are more in demand than ever, at all levels of the market — from tented camps to luxury developments. Lionsback Resort is the latter. A hotel, complete with food and beverage service and other centralized amenities, is in the works, but the first phase of Lionsback’s development is here: a collection of residential-style casitas, designed in a modern style and outfitted with high-end comforts. They come in two- and three-bedroom varieties, and all feature decks and patios complete with hot tubs. Fire pits and grills are available, and each one comes with a full indoor kitchen. The design is sustainable, and the lighting is Dark Sky compliant — this town is famous for, among other things, some of the best stargazing in the country. It’s also famous for its trails, a few of which are within walking distance; meanwhile, the town of Moab itself is two miles away, and the entrances to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are not much farther.
