About Le Saint Nicolas
Two blocks from La Rochelle’s historic port, on the curve of a quiet street lined with simple stone houses, a low archway leads to the Hôtel Saint-Nicolas. Its humble facade is somewhat misleading: inside, the cozy interiors are filled with natural light, particularly in the sunny lounge space which is decorated with blonde wood floors, a sculptural wood-burning fireplace, and plush sofas that sit under a vaulting wall of glass windows. Upstairs, rooms are compact but stylish, mostly outfitted in neutral tones and featuring only the essentials. An appealing breakfast buffet and a small bar, with sidewalk seating on the small plaza, round out Le Saint-Nicolas’ straightforward offerings.
