About Hotel de France
On the main square of La Chartre-sur-le-Loir, a small town on the banks of the Loir River between Le Mans and the Loire Valley châteaux, Hôtel de France has long been a pilgrimage stop for motorsport devotees making the journey to the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit. The 25 rooms across three buildings range from snug classics to junior suites, with four-poster beds, crystal chandeliers, and suitable wallpapers giving the place an aristocratic character. The restaurant Le Relais de Ronsard, named after the local Renaissance poet, does seasonal Sarthe cooking paired with Jasnières wines from just up the valley.
