About The Naka Phuket
Thailand is no stranger to architecturally modern villa hotels, but this one, by the award-wining architect Duangrit Bunnag, is exceptional. The Naka Phuket stands alongside what might be the island’s finest private beach, its villas dramatically climbing the hillside overlooking the bay. Bedrooms are cantilevered, protruding into space, with 270-degree views from their floor-to-ceiling windows. Meanwhile the interiors are as modern and striking as the exteriors, minimal in ornament but warmed by richly textured local hardwood. Private pools are universal; some villas come with outdoor baths as well. There’s an Olympic-sized swimming pool serving all guests, along with a large and lavish spa. The larger of the two restaurants stretches out alongisde the main pool, while the Sky Lounge offers what might be the resort’s most impressive elevated views.
