About Montebelo Vista Alegre Ílhavo Hotel

The central Portuguese city of Ílhavo is said to have been settled by the ancient Greeks; of more recent significance is the connection with Vista Alegre, a porcelain maker with 200 years of local history. Montebelo Vista Alegre Ílhavo Hotel is a partnership between the ongoing Vista Alegre concern and the Montebelo Hotels & Resorts group, and is a part of Vista Alegre’s local campus, along with the old factory, which is now a museum memorializing Vista Alegre’s history. In fact the company founders’ palace now comprises one wing of the hotel, joined by the neighboring Master Painter’s palace and the Bairro Vista Alegre, which once provided workforce housing. In total, the Montebelo Vista Alegre Ílhavo Hotel is a proper luxury hotel, complete with a full-service spa. And its accommodations range widely, from the relatively humble singles and doubles in the Master Painter’s Palace to the rooms and suites in the Founders’ Palace’s new wing and the stylish, modern rooms, suites, studios, and apartments in the Bairro. They’re all served by the spa and the swimming pool, as well as the Vista Alegre Restaurant, which serves three meals a day focused on the culinary traditions of Portugal’s Central Region.
