Built in 1902, the hotel once served as a public bath house where locals gathered to connect and recharge. Josephine's Bar is placed in the lobby and has an atmosphere connected to the old bathhouse.

Hildebrandt Hammer opened the first hotel here in 1971. Since then, the hotel has been presented as the trunk and roots of a family tree of hotels.
