In the hills just above Guincho beach, a popular surf spot just outside of Cascais, is Dream Guincho, a small and stylish hotel that’s perfectly placed for a restorative seaside break. Its eight rooms are minimalist in their bones but decorated with a flair for color and character; that all of them face out to sea certainly heightens the appeal. Books are everywhere, and the rooms themselves are named for literary figures — it’s a fine place to get lost in a book in between surf sessions and country drives. A weekly table d’hôte–style meal gathers all the guests together around the table.
