About Pearl Star Hotel Atami
Less than an hour by train from Tokyo is Atami, the so-called Monaco of the East. While in some resort towns the most notable hotels might be the most outré, here the Pearl Star Hotel is recognized for its artful subtlety. Its aim is the sort of low-key, minimalist luxury that soothes and transforms; its rooms are decorated in a modern variation of the classic Japanese style, paper screens and all. Atop the hotel, twelve stories up, is a spring-fed bath with an infinity edge, making for sublime views out to sea; guests enjoy a selection of no fewer than five restaurants and bars.
