About The Radical
Asheville, North Carolina is a Southern city with a counterculture streak — and, not incidentally, a surplus of decommissioned industrial buildings in lovely red brick. The Radical makes its home in a former warehouse in the River Arts creative district, and its name is perhaps less about revolutionary politics than about a general enthusiasm for life; “radical” is, among other things, American slang for “very good indeed.” Along with colorful and vibrant street art–inspired rooms, the Radical is home to multiple social venues: Afterglow, the café; Golden Hour, the wood-fired restaurant; and The Roof, a self-explanatory open-air bar and lounge.
