About La Maison d\u0027Ambronay
Ambronay is a village between Lyon and Geneva, in Eastern France, well known for its Baroque history; it’s here that a 19th-century elementary school has been transformed — not too thoroughly — into a four-room bed and breakfast, La Maison d’Ambronay. We say not too thoroughly because the schoolhouse atmosphere remains, however stylized — you’ll find chalkboards, writing desks, and children’s books in its striking contemporary bedrooms. Games like foosball and table tennis help you recapture a bit of the joy of your own school days, and for breakfast or brunch there’s a communal table attached to the old schoolhouse kitchen.
