Two properties, one identity: a boutique hotel and a paddy lodge, 500 meters apart on Sri Lanka's south coast, connected by a complimentary tuk-tuk. The hotel's seven rooms take their names from Sinhala numerals: five intimate rooms and two larger suites, Deka and Thuna, with separate living areas and the kind of unhurried atmosphere that Kabalana Beach, a three-minute walk away, only adds to. An Italian chef runs the all-day restaurant, folding local ingredients into Mediterranean-inflected cooking. The yoga shala at Paddy Lodge, surrounded by rice fields, is open to guests at both properties.
