Masterclass and vertical tasting

This London event is a Château du Tertre masterclass and vertical tasting hosted by 67 Pall Mall. It takes place in the St James’s Room and begins with a welcome reception before the masterclass itself.

The estate story is part of the session’s focus. Château du Tertre is described as one of the few Médoc crus classés still farming the same contiguous vineyard that was classified as a fifth growth in 1855.

What is in the lineup

The tasting features seven pours. The lineup includes 2025 Tertre Blanc and 2023 Les Hauts du Tertre, followed by five grand vin vintages: 2023, 2016, 2010, 2006, and 1998.

The white wine is described as an unorthodox blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, and Gros Manseng. The grand vin set is presented as a vertical tracing the estate’s evolution across recent and older vintages.

Estate context

Cynthia Capelaere, the estate director, hosts the session. The estate’s recent history includes its 1997 integration into the same ownership as Château Giscours, later investment in vineyard and winery work under Alexander van Beek, a transition toward biodynamic viticulture from 2009, and a 2021 takeover by the Helfrich family.
