Juan in a Million

Juan in a Million is a family-run venue in Austin. It was opened by two school teachers, Juan and Myrna Meza, and is described as valuing homemade recipes and welcoming everyone like family.

Family history

The Don Juan Taco has been part of the restaurant since its doors opened more than 36 years ago. It is a heaping plate of bacon, potatoes, eggs, and cheese served on a warm tortilla. Thirty-seven years after opening, the restaurant remains a family business, with Juan Jr managing day-to-day operations and Christina managing media relations.

Menu items

The menu includes beef or chicken fajitas made with Certified Angus Beef or chicken, served with lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes, listed at $6.35. Ground beef or shredded chicken tacos are also listed, served with lettuce, cheese, and tomato at $5.00.

Another plate offers a choice of two beef or chicken tacos on either corn crispy tortillas or flour tortillas, served with charro beans, rice, and salad; the version with guacamole costs $14.65. The Texas Rib Steak Dinner costs $16 and centers on a 6 oz Texas beef ribeye steak with two eggs cooked any style, ranchero sauce, refried beans, potatoes, and a choice of two flour or corn tortillas.

A Thursday Taco Dinner Plate Special costs $13, with a choice of two beef or chicken tacos on either corn crispy or flour tortillas, served with rice, beans, salad, and tea.
