Mott 32 at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas
Las Vegas, United States
The first US outpost of Hong Kong's Maximal Concepts, Mott 32 at The Venetian is the most seriously sourced Chinese restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip; Kobe beef, Australian wagyu, Iberico pork, and a 48-hour apple-roasted duck that must be pre-ordered. Ranked #346 in OAD's North America list for 2025, it's a strong special-occasion booking with five private dining rooms and easy availability.

Reserve
Scottsdale, United States
Reserve is a better fit for a planned Scottsdale dinner than a casual backup. Book it for a focused evening in Old Town, especially as a date or small-group choice, but cross-shop Cafe Monarch or Old Town Tortilla Factory if the occasion needs clearer positioning, broader group appeal, or more predictable expectations.

La Choza Restaurant
Santa Fe, United States
La Choza Restaurant is a practical Santa Fe pick when you want an easy lunch or dinner rather than a high-stakes occasion. It works well for travelers building a day around the city, but cross-shop Paper Dosa for a clearer cuisine brief or Second Street Brewery at The Railyard for a more casual group setting.

Lom Wong
Phoenix, United States
Lom Wong is the hardest table to book in Phoenix right now, and with good reason. Chef Yotaka Martin's 2025 James Beard Award for Best Chef: Southwest and an Esquire Best New Restaurants #3 ranking in 2023 put this Thai restaurant in a category of its own in the city. Book as far in advance as possible. This is the first reservation to make if you are serious about eating well in Phoenix.

China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan
Las Vegas, United States
China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan is a José Andrés Chinese-Mexican concept that has earned back-to-back Opinionated About Dining Cheap Eats recognition; ranked #292 in 2024 and #332 in 2025. It's one of the few spots on the Strip where serious food meets a low-pressure, walk-in-friendly format. Book for lunch to avoid the dinner crowd.

Kame Omakase
Las Vegas, United States
Kame is a stronger pick for diners who want a focused Las Vegas sushi meal than for groups chasing a high-energy night out. Eric Kim's restaurant has 2025 Opinionated About Dining recognition, and the counter-style appeal makes it better suited to sushi-focused pairs or small groups than broad, mixed-agenda dinners.

Stubborn Seed Las Vegas
Las Vegas, United States
A focused Strip dinner choice for diners who want one planned meal rather than a loose casino crawl. Go earlier for a calmer read on the room and pacing; cross-shop if the group needs something faster, cheaper, or more casual.

Tratto
Phoenix, United States
Tratto is a better Phoenix pick for a focused dinner than for a casual drop-in or lunch plan. Book it when conversation, pacing, and a calmer evening matter; cross-shop more casual Phoenix restaurants if the group needs obvious value, menu certainty, or easier flexibility.

Gymkhana
Las Vegas, United States
Gymkhana works for a chef-led Strip dinner that fits cleanly into a larger Las Vegas night. It is a stronger pick for convenience and a composed meal than for diners who need full menu and price visibility before choosing.

L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (USA)
Las Vegas, United States
One of Las Vegas's most credible fine dining options, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand earns its Forbes Four-Star rating with classical French cooking and a counter-style format that works especially well for couples and solo diners marking a special occasion. Book hard and early; Tuesday and Wednesday closures narrow your window.

Pizzeria Bianco
Phoenix, United States
Book Pizzeria Bianco when pizza is the main event and the group wants a casual Phoenix meal with serious national recognition. It is a stronger choice for food-focused travelers than for quiet special occasions, with an easy booking profile and a format that rewards smaller groups who want to order with focus.

Christopher's at Wrigley Mansion
Phoenix, United States
Christopher's at Wrigley Mansion is worth booking for a Phoenix celebration where the mansion setting is part of the point. It is less useful for diners who need a clearly defined cuisine, price range, or chef-led hook before choosing, but booking is listed as easy, which makes it a practical special-occasion option.

Valentine
Phoenix, United States
Book Valentine when you want a Phoenix meal that feels rooted in Southwestern cooking rather than a generic night out. It is strongest as a two-visit play: daytime first, dinner later. Recognition from Esquire in 2022 and a 2025 James Beard semifinalist nod make it a higher-demand choice than a casual neighborhood backup.

INDIBAR
Paradise Valley, United States
INDIBAR is a low-friction Paradise Valley choice for dinner, drinks, or a small celebration when ease matters more than a published chef, cuisine label, or tasting-menu structure. Go in the evening, keep group plans modest, and cross-shop more clearly defined resort restaurants if the meal itself needs to carry the occasion.

Atria
Flagstaff, United States
Atria is worth prioritizing in downtown Flagstaff if wine matters to the meal: its Wine Spectator Award of Excellence (2026) gives it a clearer quality signal than many local options. Go for a planned dinner rather than a last-minute casual bite; cross-shop FLG Terroir Wine Bar & Bistro for a wine-bar feel or Diablo Burger for lower-commitment dining.

Ping Pang Pong
Paradise, United States
Book Ping Pang Pong when the priority is an easy Paradise meal with flexible timing, not a high-ceremony occasion. It works better as a practical repeat visit or group fallback than as the anchor dinner of a Las Vegas trip; cross-shop Vetri Cucina for Italian, Send Noodles for a more focused noodle plan.Y.C.E Buffet when variety matters more.

Paloma Restaurant
Santa Fe, United States
Paloma Restaurant is a dinner-first Santa Fe pick near the Guadalupe/Railyard corridor. Book it for a planned evening meal rather than lunch or brunch, and cross-shop Tomasita's, Zia Diner, or Cowgirl if the group wants something more casual or flexible.

Paper Dosa
Santa Fe, United States
Paper Dosa is Santa Fe's most consistent South Indian restaurant, holding a 4.7-star rating from over 1,300 reviewers and a 2025 Pearl Recommended designation. The kitchen, led by chef Paulraj Karuppasamy, takes dosas, sambar, and chutneys seriously in a city where the format has little competition. Easy to book, casual in dress, and largely vegetarian-friendly.

Tia Sophia's
Santa Fe, United States
Tia Sophia's is Santa Fe's most broadly endorsed casual New Mexican restaurant; Pearl Recommended in 2025, and walk-in friendly. It wins on authenticity and accessibility rather than occasion dining. For a polished New Mexican experience, consider Sazón instead; for a genuine local institution at an accessible price, Tia Sophia's is the right call.

Partage
Las Vegas, United States
Partage is a stronger pick for a planned Off-Strip dinner than for a flexible, last-minute night out. The 2026 James Beard Award semifinalist recognition raises the booking stakes, so treat it as an anchor reservation, especially for two to four diners who want a more composed Las Vegas meal away from casino traffic.

Cote Vegas
Las Vegas, United States
Cote Vegas works when the goal is a seated Korean steakhouse dinner, especially for groups who want the meal to feel like part of the night. It is less compelling as takeout because the format depends on heat, pacing, and shared ordering.

Fry Bread House
Phoenix, United States
Fry Bread House is worth prioritizing for a casual Phoenix meal built around Native American fry bread tacos, not for formal dining. The James Beard America’s Classics recognition gives it real credibility, but the experience stays simple: counter-service comfort food, casual dress, and a format that works especially well for solo diners, families, and low-key celebrations.

Restaurant Martin
Santa Fe, United States
Restaurant Martin is a strong Santa Fe pick for a composed dinner when the group wants something calmer than a casual stop but easier than a high-stakes destination meal. Its Opinionated About Dining Top Restaurants in North America recognition adds credibility, while the lean public details make it better for flexible diners than anyone comparing menus and budgets in advance.

Bacanora
Phoenix, United States
Bacanora is the strongest case for a special occasion dinner in Phoenix right now. Chef Rene Andrade won the 2024 James Beard Award for Best Chef: Southwest, placing this Sonoran Mexican restaurant in a category of its own in Arizona. Book three to four weeks out minimum, and request counter seating if available: 4.4 across 568 reviews.

Sparrow + Wolf
Las Vegas, United States
Sparrow + Wolf is the most technically ambitious New American kitchen in Las Vegas outside the Strip, ranked #440 in North America by Opinionated About Dining in 2025. Chef Brian Howard runs a dinner-only kitchen in the Chinatown corridor that works best as a special-occasion or date-night booking, and it is easy to reserve.

Guy Savoy
Las Vegas, United States
Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace is Las Vegas's most formally structured French tasting experience, scoring 95 points on La Liste in both 2025 and 2026 and holding a top-3 Star Wine List ranking. Booking is easier than the reputation suggests; 2 to 3 weeks out for weekends. Plan your entire evening around it: no shows, no rush.

Matilda
Park City, United States
Matilda is a strong Park City pick for a relaxed dinner built around scratch-made sourdough pizza, share plates, and a wine-and-cocktail program with more intent than a basic neighborhood pizza spot. At about $40 per person, it works well for date nights, families, and groups who want upscale-casual comfort without making the evening feel formal.

Soulbelly BBQ
Las Vegas, United States
Soulbelly BBQ is a good Las Vegas pick for a casual celebration, group meal, or relaxed date built around barbecue rather than formal service. It makes less sense for diners prioritizing wine depth, ceremony, or a quiet special-occasion room.

Kabuto Edomae Sushi
Spring Valley, United States
Kabuto Edomae Sushi works for a focused sushi dinner in Spring Valley, especially for two people or first-timers who want a calmer off-Strip meal. Larger groups may be happier at ITs IZAKAYA, Lamaii, or Sparrow + Wolf if variety and table energy matter more than a sushi-led format.

Arroyo Vino
Santa Fe, United States
Arroyo Vino is the Santa Fe pick when the night is built around wine, conversation, and a calmer occasion meal. It is better for couples or small groups than for diners chasing named dishes, chef-driven theater, or a loud casual night out.

Campo
Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, United States
Campo is the Los Ranchos de Albuquerque booking to prioritize when wine depth matters as much as the meal. Its Star Wine List recognition and 2025 James Beard Award semifinalist nod make it a stronger fit for date nights, visiting guests, and wine-led dinners than for casual, low-planning group meals.

Glai Baan
Phoenix, United States
Glai Baan is worth booking for a casual Phoenix meal when flexibility matters more than ceremony. Go for a low-friction dinner with a small group, but look to Binkley's for a splurge format or Avanti for a more old-school occasion setting.

Wing Lei at Wynn Las Vegas
Las Vegas, United States
Wing Lei at Wynn Las Vegas is one of the few Chinese fine dining rooms in the US with a La Liste global ranking (79 pts in 2025), and it earns that placement. The Imperial Peking duck tasting at $88 per person is the anchor order; a second visit built around Chef Ming Yu's signature dinner covers a different register entirely. Book for dinner, request a window table, and use the sommelier.

LATHA
Phoenix, United States
LATHA is a practical downtown Phoenix pick for diners who want a relaxed, exploratory meal without turning dinner into a booking project. Go for convenience and local character; choose a more formal peer if the night needs a published tasting format, named accolades, or a clearly defined special-occasion setup.

Michael Mina
Las Vegas, United States
Michael Mina at Bellagio is a Forbes Four-Star Modern American restaurant with a seafood-forward California menu, rare vegetarian tasting menu option, and a 890-selection wine program run by a stable senior team. At the $$$ price tier, the service and kitchen execution justify the spend; but book three to four weeks ahead and note the Wednesday closure.

Joel Robuchon at The Mansion
Las Vegas, United States
One of the most credentialed French restaurants in North America, Joel Robuchon at The Mansion holds AAA 5 Diamond status, La Liste 96 points (2025), and an Opinionated About Dining #88 North America ranking. The $$$-tier dinner format with a 1,645-selection wine list is the right choice for a significant occasion; and easier to book than comparable restaurants at this level.

é by José Andrés
Las Vegas, United States
é by José Andrés is Las Vegas's most rigorously structured tasting menu, earning consecutive OAD top-40 North America rankings (2023–2025). Dinner only, Tuesday through Saturday, with two seatings per night. At $$$ pricing with a 160-selection Spain-focused wine list, it rewards food and wine enthusiasts who want the full arc of Spanish molecular cuisine; not a casual night out.

Hush Public House
Scottsdale, United States
Hush Public House is a practical North Scottsdale dinner pick when you want a grown-up meal without the production of a steakhouse or the activity focus of Puttshack. It is strongest for small groups, date nights, and casual occasions where conversation matters more than a tightly defined cuisine lane.

Anima by EDO
Las Vegas, United States
A practical west-side Las Vegas pick for diners who want a neighborhood dinner without the Strip routine. Anima by EDO makes the most sense for repeat visitors or locals prioritizing convenience and easier planning over a trophy reservation, published awards, or a heavily documented tasting-menu format.

Lamaii
Las Vegas, United States
Lamaii holds a 3-Star World of Fine Wine Accreditation and a long-standing reputation on Las Vegas' Spring Mountain Road for serious food and generously priced wine. It is the clearest choice in Chinatown for food-focused visitors who want depth over Strip spectacle. Booking is easy; a few days' notice is usually enough.

Huarachis Taqueria
Phoenix, United States
Huarachis Taqueria is a practical downtown Phoenix choice for a casual, low-friction meal rather than a formal night out. It is strongest for solo dining, quick meals, and small groups; for a special occasion, compare it with Rough Rider, Miel De Agave Phoenix, or Industry Standard first.

Estiatorio Milos
Las Vegas, United States
Book Estiatorio Milos when the goal is a refined, seafood-leaning Strip meal that works especially well at lunch. Dinner is viable, but CUT Las Vegas is the clearer splurge and Yardbird is easier for mixed groups; this is strongest when the table wants something lighter and more polished.

Esther's Kitchen
Las Vegas, United States
Esther's Kitchen is the Arts District Italian worth booking if you're eating off the Strip. Ranked #683 on Opinionated About Dining's Casual North America list in 2025 (up from #757 in 2024), it delivers ingredient-led Italian with a consistent track record. Booking is easy; lunch is the underrated entry point.

Frontier
Albuquerque, United States
Frontier works when flexibility matters more than ceremony. Its long daily hours make it useful for solo meals, loose group plans, and backup dining in Albuquerque, but special-occasion diners should compare it with more polished alternatives before committing.

Market Steer Steakhouse
Santa Fe, United States
Market Steer Steakhouse is worth booking for a polished Santa Fe celebration when the table wants steakhouse comfort with broader modern American range. The draw is not just prime beef; it is the guided service, Western-informed Tack Room atmosphere, and chef-led menu that can handle steak loyalists, seafood orders, and Southwestern accents in one meal.

Kid Sister
Phoenix, United States
Kid Sister is a serious Phoenix booking if food quality is the deciding factor, backed by a 2025 James Beard Award semifinalist nod. Treat it as a planned dinner rather than a casual fallback, especially for smaller parties or date nights where the kitchen needs to carry the evening.

Joseph's Culinary Pub
Santa Fe, United States
Joseph's Culinary Pub is a practical Santa Fe dinner pick for a return visit, especially when the goal is a relaxed evening rather than an award-led splurge. Choose it over louder casual options when conversation matters; choose Tomasita's or Cowgirl instead if the group wants a more defined Santa Fe classic or a livelier setting.

Koyote
Salt Lake City, United States
Koyote is a sensible Salt Lake City pick when ease matters more than ceremony. Treat it as a relaxed dinner or small-date option rather than a destination splurge, and cross-shop Arlo Restaurant for a more occasion-oriented meal or Red Iguana for a safer value play.

Feldman's Deli
Salt Lake City, United States
Feldman's Deli is the Salt Lake City pick for an easy, casual deli meal rather than a polished night out. Book it when comfort and convenience matter more than wine depth, ceremony, or a long dinner format; cross-shop more composed local restaurants for anniversaries, client meals, or date nights built around atmosphere.

Jambo Cafe
Santa Fe, United States
Jambo Cafe is a practical Santa Fe pick when the meal should feel relaxed, local, and easier than a formal Plaza reservation. It is better for casual lunches, early dinners, and low-pressure group meals than for a polished special occasion. Compare it with Santa Fe Bite or The Pantry if the group wants a more classic café or comfort-food lane.

FnB Restaurant
Scottsdale, United States
FnB Restaurant is the Scottsdale booking to prioritize when national recognition matters more than a casual night out. The 2026 James Beard Award Semi Finalist signal makes it a strong special-dinner pick, but the hard booking difficulty means it is better for planners than last-minute groups.

Bouchon Las Vegas
Las Vegas, United States
Thomas Keller's French bistro on the 10th floor of The Venetian is one of the cleaner booking decisions on the Strip; polished, composed, and meaningfully removed from the casino floor. Best suited for sit-down dining; it does not travel well as takeout. Easier to book than most Keller properties, and worth it if a reliable French bistro meal in a calm room is what you need.

Izanami Restaurant
Santa Fe, United States
Izanami Restaurant at Ten Thousand Waves earns a Pearl Recommended designation for 2025, withers. Under chef Mattie McGhee, it delivers Southwestern cuisine with Japanese influences in a mountain spa setting above Santa Fe; making it the strongest special-occasion restaurant option outside the downtown Plaza.
Overview
The inaugural Michelin Guide Southwest U.S. 2026 selected 64 restaurants across Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Restaurant de Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas received two Stars; four restaurants received one Star, and 18 earned Bib Gourmand recognition. A place in the guide does not by itself mean a Michelin Star.
Michelin unveiled its first Southwest U.S. restaurant selection at Fontainebleau Las Vegas in August 2026. The guide covers 64 eateries across 24 cuisine types in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Restaurant de Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas earned two Stars. The four one-Star restaurants are e by Jose Andres, Guy Savoy Las Vegas and L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon Las Vegas, plus Monte in South Salt Lake, Utah. Inspectors also awarded 18 Bib Gourmands for good-quality cooking at good value. The remaining selected restaurants are recommendations without a Star or Bib distinction; Michelin also named separate professional Special Awards. Michelin's employed inspectors book anonymously, pay for their meals and evaluate the cooking. Their five universal food criteria are ingredient quality, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavors, the chef's personality expressed in the cuisine, and consistency across the menu and over time. A Star is awarded for the food on the plate, not for decor, service or luxury. One Star signifies high-quality cooking worth a stop; two indicate excellent cooking worth a detour. Bib Gourmand is a distinct good-value recognition, not a lower Star level. An ordinary Guide selection is still an inspector-recommended restaurant. This is not a numbered league table from first to 64th: its distinctions have different meanings. Pearl links to location profiles for the restaurants it can match and publish. The publisher's complete 64-restaurant selection can therefore exceed Pearl's count of currently visible venue profiles.
Browse Michelin-recognized dining across the Southwest by destination and restaurant. Look for the specific Star, Bib Gourmand or selected status on Michelin's source listing before interpreting a venue's distinction.

About This Edition
The first Southwest edition marked Michelin's return to Las Vegas and expanded coverage across four states. Michelin announced 64 restaurants in August 2026, including five Star recipients and 18 Bib Gourmands. Pearl's public venue count can be smaller when a restaurant record is not yet available; the full publisher selection remains the authority for the award status of each restaurant.
