About Zoku Vienna
The original Zoku, in Amsterdam, is a clever, compact, efficient little boutique hotel, and a stylish and livable one at the same time. In some ways it seemed so perfectly Dutch as to be possible only in Amsterdam; as the phrase Zoku Vienna reveals, though, this is decidedly not the case. It’s an apartment hotel, but not in the dull, beige, under-decorated way. Instead, its lofts, through some kind of advanced spatial wizardry, pack a whole residence’s worth of comforts into a hotel-room-sized area, including a living room, a kitchen, a dining table, and office space — provided your work is the sort of low-impact, laptop-centered work that’s the norm for today’s young creative class. If you need more than that, it should be said that Zoku Vienna is full of meeting and events spaces of various sizes, from proper conference rooms to little co-working booths. And if you just want a change of scenery, its less structured common spaces are even more plentiful, from the rooftop, with its greenhouse, restaurant, bar and terrace, to the lobby’s Kindred Spirits bar and the adjoining Living Room. The restaurant’s tables are communal, naturally, as is the atmosphere all throughout — in fact you may find it difficult to drag yourself outside, though the Prater park is just across the road, and historic central Vienna just beyond.
