About The Harmonie Vienna\u002c BW Premier Collection
It’s obvious from the name that the Harmonie Vienna is influenced by its home city’s long and storied musical tradition. But it’s not another heavy-handed tribute to Mozart. This musical Viennese hotel moves with a light touch, as is only natural, given that its true inspiration is not music per se but music personified, as it were, in the form of dance. The décor, then, is bright, sunny, historically aware but never musty. The artworks, abstract as they are, are actually transcriptions of dance movements by the Peruvian painter Luis Casanova Sorolla. And the atmosphere is breezy, convivial, the social life revolving around a central lounge and library where tea and cakes flow freely. Rooms start out on the cozy side, but they’re perfectly comfortable, with plush beds and indulgent bathrooms. They expand as you move up the range, and the suites are downright lavish, spanning 33 square meters and offering impressive views from the building’s fourth and fifth floors. Breakfast is an expansive buffet featuring fine local baked goods, organic produce, and other Austrian products. And while there’s no restaurant, you’re hardly on your own — from here, just outside Vienna’s central ring, you’re within easy reach of no end of restaurants, not to mention shops, museums, and all manner of cultural attractions.
