About Eye Hotel
The Eye Hotel’s name is rather literal; it occupies a gorgeous 17th-century building that was once an ophthalmology hospital in the heart of Utrecht. In its new guise as a boutique hotel, it’s got 36 rooms in five different styles — all of them with the basics, like free wi-fi and flat-screen TVs, while the suites offer high ceilings, additional beds upon request, and expansive views of the city. Sophisticated minimalist décor and a cool, muted color palette highlight the structure’s original exposed ceiling beams, which are beautiful design elements in their own right. Meals, coffee, and snacks are available from De Rechtbank, the restaurant at the Eye’s sister hotel, just a minute’s walk away — and adventurous guests can rent bikes from the hotel and tour Utrecht like a local.
