About HochLeger Luxus Chalet Refugium am Berg
This is Alpine chalet living done right. That is, with consummate respect for privacy and a slew of opportunities to engage directly with what is arguably Nature’s grand finale. At an altitude over 3,400 feet and comprising just four chalets, HochLeger will have you convinced that you’re homesteading on a fresh frontier — you’ll forgive the luxury trappings for straining the illusion, we hope. Or just ditch the illusion and revel in the sky-high infinity pool, we don’t judge. The ambience behind the three chalet types — Hunter’s, Sports, and Romantic — pretty much explains itself, though all partake in an extravagant display of natural wood; floors, walls, ceilings, and furniture make a gorgeous and sustainable statement in matured pine, larch, and fir. All three two-story buildings feature private terraces and al fresco or freestanding tubs with Natural Beauties amenities, arresting mountain views, and (nice touch) champagne tables. Color schemes vary between sensual and autumnal, accented in turn by the inevitable trophy antlers and an open dolomite fireplace. Balancing the old-world elements is a flatscreen, a Dolby surround sound system with docking station, and the all-important complimentary wi-fi. The real home run comes with the full-scale kitchens, complete with handpicked, antique farmhouse cabinets and stone countertops that function as altars to abundance. Stocked sideboards boast regional, seasonal ingredients from the area’s own farmers and artisans: rustic breads, fortifying local milk and butter, forest jams, wild honey, and savory cuts of meat. What’s more, a delivery service stops by daily, first with breakfast rolls and Italian espresso, later with fresh strudel and coffee — or book the on-site chef to whip up an entree from his rotating menu.
