About Tendoso
Tendō might not be a well-known destination outside of Japan, but for the domestic market, the city is one of the country’s major hot spring resorts. Where geothermal springs go, ryokan are sure to follow — and among the finest is Tendoso, where every room comes with its own hot spring bath. Choose from classic Japanese design in one of the seven outdoor cottages known as hanare, patterned after the structures traditionally used for tea ceremonies, or a room with slightly more contemporary styling in the main house. A public onsen supplements the in-room baths; the restaurant serves a classic multi-course kaiseki dinner, with grilled eel given pride of place.
