About 202 Elizabeth
202 Elizabeth (locals call it "the Lizzy") sits on the edge of Surry Hills, its rooftop overlooking the neighborhood's low-rise streets. Sydney artist and stylist Lisa Madigan designed the interiors, layering floral wallpaper from Kingdom Home with vintage lighting, mirrors, and Australian artworks. The rooms range from 20-square-meter spaces to the 40-square-meter Lizzy suite, which includes a soaking tub and floor-to-ceiling windows. Alessi Design + Build constructed the property from cross-laminated timber, a carbon-negative material, and eliminated single-use plastics throughout. Hunter Lab vegan amenities fill the bathrooms. The rooftop functions as an outdoor lounge; the ground-floor courtyard draws a creative crowd working between coffee and cocktails.
