About B\u0026B Itadaki
In some places the phrase “B&B” puts one in mind of a guest room in a family home, often indifferent to design and light on facilities and services. B&B Itadaki is as far as a lodging can get from such a thing while still qualifying as a bed and breakfast. Yes, the family owners live next door, and a night in this mountain inn includes a carefully prepared breakfast. But everything about the stay is extraordinary, from the isolated (and spectacular) natural setting on the fringes of Shizuoka City to the stunning modern-rustic architecture and design to the creature comforts, which include a hot tub with a view of the forested hillsides. And while there’s no restaurant per se there’s breakfast, of course, as well as the option to book a private dinner — the owners come from a culinary family and the cuisine is as memorable as the setting.
