About Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle
Though located deep in the heart of Seattle’s financial district, Hotel Monaco is anything but the typical drab business accommodation. After all, what corporate chain hotel boasts bright yellow and red striped wallpaper in the guest rooms, animal-print upholstery, and dog coats monogrammed with the hotel’s logo? The whimsical atmosphere goes a long way toward explaining the Monaco’s clientele, a mix of young and unbuttoned business types, suit-shy software mavens, and the occasional visiting rock star. That dog coat isn’t just free advertising, by the way—the Monaco takes excellent care of its guests’ pets, and in this weather only the hardiest sea dog goes out uncovered. And if you left your pets at home, the hotel will provide a goldfish for the duration of your stay; just don’t get too attached, as they’re only loaners. This being Seattle, wireless internet is included, and some rooms boast scenic views of Mount Rainier. All rooms feature stereo systems and soundproof windows, and in case you’re rained in, there’s a non-stop yoga channel available on TV, as well as a 24-hour fitness room. The Mediterranean suites come with two-person Fuji jet tubs, and all rooms come with terrycloth robes and coffee makers with the inevitable Starbucks coffee. Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square are close at hand, as is the convention center and the neighborhood's plentiful dining outlets.

- 11th Avenue Inn Bed and BreakfastA Capitol Hill bed and breakfast that trades hotel amenities for neighbourhood character and better value per night. Best for independent travellers who want a quiet, walkable base rather than a full-service property. If you need 24-hour service or on-demand dining, look elsewhere — but for a low-fuss Seattle stay with easy access to restaurants and transit, this format delivers.
- Ace Hotel SeattleAce Hotel Seattle is a design-forward Belltown property that works best for creative travellers who want neighbourhood atmosphere over luxury amenities. It lacks a major loyalty program, so points-chasers should look elsewhere. Booking is easy most of the year, but reserve three to four weeks out for summer weekends and event periods.
