About Domaine de Murtoli (L'Hôtel de la Ferme)
The French don’t have an exact equivalent for the Italian “agriturismo,” but that’s just what Domaine de Murtoli is. This boutique hotel on the south coast of Corsica is a working farm whose accommodations, stone houses that were once shepherds’ dwellings, have been thoroughly renovated; today, each has its own wrought-iron gate, fireplace, swimming pool, and outdoor kitchen. Some offer sea views and easy access to the ocean, while others, set amid green pastures, feel far away from everything. The estate features a private beach, a 12-hole golf course, and horses and a fishing boat for guest use, plus three restaurants — the fine La Table de la Ferme, as well as a seafood restaurant made entirely of driftwood and a traditional Corsican eatery located inside a terraced cave.
