About Angelats Hotel
It’s not often you find Victorian England architecture in Spain, but coming across the unique design of Angelats Hotels amongst the forest of the Catalan Pyrenees is even more of a surprise. The property was first built as a residence by Domingo Batlló, who wanted to be close to the waters of the Torrent d’Angelats and their supposed health benefits, before been finished by his son in the Victorian style. The original design has been retained and the building transformed from home to hotel, with 20 rooms looking over the historic courtyard or the sloping hills of the Pyrenees. Some can also be connected via the bathroom to create family-friendly accommodation. Restaurant La Santa is housed inside the stone wall and vaulted ceiling’s the former church and serves Catalan cuisine with meat cooked over a live fire. The outdoor swimming pool also has a prime location on top of one of the houses arched structures, offering a high up panoramic view of the Pyrenees. It this remote location in nature which makes the hotel an ideal spot for stargazing, or by day, exploring the surrounding forests and national parks.
