Magnetic Island sits in the Coral Sea roughly 20 minutes by ferry from Townsville, and the island's pace sets the tone for everything at Nomads. The outdoor areas here are the main reason to spend time on-site rather than simply using it as a bed for the night. The open-air common spaces benefit from the island's consistent tropical warmth, and the surrounding eucalyptus and coastal scrub mean the air carries that particular mix of salt and dry bush that is specific to this part of North Queensland.
