About La Demeure Montaigne
It’s not every day a new hotel opens in the top tier of the Parisian hospitality market, and when it does, it’s big news. La Demeure Montaigne takes its name from its location, just off the Avenue Montaigne, and from its atmosphere — however opulent it may be, this Haussmannian mansion retains a distinct residential aspect that makes it all the more improbable that such a place should exist, especially on a side street so close to so many of the city’s most desirable locations. The rooms and suites are exquisitely crafted, down to the smallest detail, and while the style is a mélange of a number of different eras, the comforts are pure modern luxury. The smallest of the rooms are quite small — this is still Paris, after all — but they come with Nespresso machines and Italian marble showers, while the suites and apartments are spacious indeed. Downstairs are a supremely calming swimming pool and the first hotel spa by the marine cosmetics brand Thalgo. Just as restorative, though in a different way, is l’Envolée, set in the hotel’s courtyard beneath its glass roof, where chef Grégory Réjou’s team prepares elevated French classics in an open-kitchen setting.
