About One\u0026Only Nyungwe House
A plantation house on the edge of one of Africa's oldest rainforests, surrounded by working tea fields still harvested by the local Gisakura cooperative. Nyungwe National Park beyond the estate is home to chimpanzees, L'Hoest's monkeys, serval cats, and Congo clawless otters: daily guided treks go in search of all of them. Rooms face the jungle with imigongo accents and trekking kits at the ready. The spa's Forest Awakening treatment starts on swings suspended among the trees. The Gisakura 1952 cocktail, built around black tea grown on the estate, is worth arriving early for.
