About Portals Hills Boutique Hotel
Portals Hills Boutique Hotel isn’t just a little bit Art Deco — it’s more Miami than Miami itself, a curiously authentic contemporary interpretation of the gleaming white Streamline Moderne style that’s more or less synonymous with South Beach. And the fact that it’s in Mallorca rather than South Florida isn’t as odd as it might seem, given how much inspiration the original Miami Beach look derived from Moorish-influenced Spanish architecture in the first place. It’s not just an attractive hotel, but a luxurious one as well, featuring 29 generously sized suites. The interior color scheme tends towards gold-on-white, in another homage to the opulence of the Jazz Age — though you wouldn’t mistake this for a period piece, thanks to the walk-in rain showers, king beds, Nespresso machines, 40-inch televisions, and JBL sound systems. You’re not far from Palma, and even closer to Puerto Portals and Port Adriano, both upscale marina towns with high-fashion boutiques and the occasional mega-yacht. But you don’t have to leave Portals Hills at all — between the Ligne St Barth spa and the hotel’s pool bar, wine bar, and fine-dining restaurant, you’ve got all the makings of a five-star stay.
