    About The Hollywood Grande

Set on Wilcox between Hollywood and Sunset, in the so-called Vinyl District, The Hollywood Grande is right in the thick of things — this mini-neighborhood is a creative/cultural counterpoint to the tourist attractions a few blocks over. It’s the ideal spot for a luxury boutique hotel like the Thompson, which is a careful blend of chic design, vibrant social life, and residential privacy. The designers, Tara Bernerd & Partners, are based in London, but the look here is Californian to the core, influenced by the West Coast variety of mid-century Modernism as well as the gilded glamour of Hollywood’s golden age. The rooms and suites are decorated in neutral tones, warmed by colorful artworks and living plants, and some even feature verdant terraces; all come with Sferra linens, 55-inch smart televisions, and D.S. & Durga bath products. Bar Lis, the hotel’s rooftop lounge, takes a detour to the Côte d’Azur, though it’s anchored unmistakably in place by its far-ranging views of the city and the Hollywood Hills. Meanwhile Mes Amis, the ground-floor restaurant, is a brasserie inspired by the cafés of Paris and Lyon, created by the highly decorated chef Lincoln Carson.
