About Palihotel Culver City
Culver City is just far enough off the Hollywood–Beverly Hills–Santa Monica axis to have once been home to the Sony movie studios and not much else. But today’s Culver City is suddenly hip, with great restaurants and nightlife as well as plentiful lifestyle and apparel shopping. And now it’s joined by an outpost of the local hip hoteliers Palihotel, who’ve adapted the 1920s-vintage West End Hotel into the modern-classic (and still Art Deco–influenced) Palihotel Culver City. The location is an auspicious one, set a block from Culver Boulevard, near the local ArcLight cinema and the Kirk Douglas Theater. And the hotel itself does what Palihotel does best: an affordable, attainable, yet stylish and highly desirable hotel, with plenty of youth appeal and thoughtful comforts in all the right places. And while for the most part it’s a contemporary update on the golden age of Hollywood, it also pays tribute to Paris, in the form of Simonette, the hotel’s all-day café, bar and bistro, serving French-inspired comfort food to hotel guests and Culver City locals alike.
